Spanish side Recreativo Huelva have told Liverpool they intend to take up their option to sign striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle.
The French striker secured a loan deal with the Primera Liga outfit at the start of the season which contained an option for the move to be made permanent if both parties agreed.
Pongolle has enjoyed an excellent campaign with Recreativo and his eleven goal haul has convinced the club's board to offer him a long term contract.
"I would like to thank the club and the fans for the affection they have shown me since I arrived at Huelva," said the 22 year old.
Despite reports to the contrary, the deal has not yet been finalised.
