A Ballad For Individuality
Sometimes people fail to understand my intentions
Making judgments about me based on misconceptions
Differences are common as strange as that may seem
Denying yourself means you're denying your dreams
No two people are the exactly the same for a reason
When your inner voice speaks you better sit and listen
Don't shut it down trying to make other people happy
People will like you for you, not for what you try to be
If they like what they see, there's no need of conformity
Yet, some change themselves so they fit in the crowd
That's alright for some, but too many decide to do this
Leaving a generation of people that look all the same
Media, peers, and trends are a few things we can blame
No ideas original, everybody has the exact same style
Identical from head to toe, right down to that phony smile
Those that maintain their individuality are frowned upon
They're just jealous because every shred of theirs is gone
Why can't people be accepted for being individuals?
Some are too willing to throw out all of their principles
Try and stay true to who you are, it'll work out in the end
Everybody can see through it when you try to pretend
